Off with their heads.

I thought I would start by posting some of my previous work. This was a project called 'Artefact' on my course at Tyne Met College. I idea for it was to answer a question in the form of research, designs and finally an end product. My question was "Alice in Wonderland: How can storybooks be an influence to fashion?" These images are some of the pages from my research sketchbook. The final image shows some of the photography that was took by my friend Louise (http://living-in-vintage.blogspot.com/)  as I modelled my garment.

If you start me up I'll never stop.

As a requirement of my college course, I have been asked to create a blog which documents my development, thoughts, inspiration and ideas.
I thought it would be a good idea to start off by introducing myself and what my general interests are.
I come from Newcastle upon Tyne and study a Foundation degree course at Newcastle College in Fashion. Before this, I studied at Tyne Metropolitan College for two years doing a Creative and Media Diploma. This was where I discovered a love for studying fashion, instead of just wearing it.
Personally, I can't put a label on my sense of fashion, as I enjoy mixing styles together to make something original, although I do love keeping up with the current trends.
My life is quite music orientated. I listen to it everyday and my favourite artists are my main inspiration. Like my style, I don't listen to specific genres of music; my ipod consists of artists like Katy Perry and Beyonce, as well as bands like Avenged Sevenfold and Paramore. I also listen to a lot of Motown and 70's punk/rock as they were the two main genres in my home as I was growing up.
