Pa-pa-Paparazzi

Today I met with my photographer, Lauren to collect the disc from the photo shoot. She took me through the photographs on the  computer. The original images were quite dark, but she'd also went through them all and lightened them up so they would be easier to edit. She managed to edit some of them but they weren't how I imagined them to look. I suggested that I would do that part as it was something I'd never really done before and wanted to attempt it.

Here are some of the original darker images.

These are the same three images, but lighter.

It's a nice day for a white wedding.

Today was the first day of a short work placement that myself and three other students have been selected to take part in. It will be held by Tyne and Wear Museums and with take place at the Discovery Museum. Our job is to help pad out the mannequins with wadding so that a collection of 20th Century wedding dresses can be put on display. We have to make sure that the mannequins are padded out enough so the dresses can look their best and that there will be enough support as some of the garments are fragile and very old.
I am really looking forward in taking part in this placement as this exhibition will be seen by a lot of people from Tyne and Wear.
This placement will be taken place on Tuesday afternoons, 1pm to 4pm until the 17th of April.
 Cleaning the mannequin

We used shoulder pads to make a bigger bust.
Using a Herringbone stitch, we attached the shoulder pads onto the mannequin.

Shake it like a polaroid picture.

On Tuesday, I had a meeting with my photographer, Lauren and we've decided to have the photoshoot next Tuesday. I've spoke to my model, Beth and she's available from 1 o'clock which will be perfect since that was the only time we could get studio space on that day. We'll be using both black and white backdrops so I have a bit of a variety and I've also found a couple of boards with a patterned wallpaper which I hope to use as props. I will also be borrowing a black feathered fan from my friend, Vicky to help show my Burlesque theme. I'm also going to buy some seamed tights and some suspender tights to help with that as well. I'll also be taking my Nikon 3100 to get some practise in using it.
